December![]() | Meeting / Competition | SOCA 2022 Photo Competition This was the annual nautical themed photo contest which included the opportunity for a pre-Christmas social which was well attended. A selection from the entries will form the basis of a future year’s calendar. |

October![]() | Meeting/ Presentation | Barton Turf Adventure Centre A talk was given by Ashley on the work of the Barton Turf Adventure Centre. This is the charity chosen by the 2020, 2021 & 2022 Commodores. |
| September | Sailing | SOCA South Coast Sailing Weekend A very enjoyable and well supported sailing event was held mid September. It started for most from Hythe Marina on Saturday 10th September, Cowes on Sunday 11th September. whereas some of the boats had congregated from further afield. Attending craft were Ariel Spirit (from Hythe), Hypertonic (from Southsea), Jetstream (from Port Solent), Saluki (from Chatham) & Skylark the smallest and traveled the furthest (from R Crouch). |
September![]() | Meeting/ Presentation | Shrimpers Rally in Scotland – Geff Briant A very well attended meeting where a presentation on John and Geff’s trip in the Shrimper SKYLARK to the Firth of Clyde and surrounding Lochs, plus a visit to Mount Stuart on the Isle of Bute and a trip on PS Waverley was given. ![]() |
August![]() | Social | A social evening was held at Tanya and Stewart’s house in Stevenage.The conversations were varied and was not solely about sailing or boats, although there was discussion of upcoming events. The food provided by Stewart and Tanya was much appreciated by all. |

June![]() | Sailing | ISW Shrimpers Rally in Scotland. This year International Shrimper Week was based at Largs on the glorious sailing waters of the Firth of Clyde John and Geff drove SKYLARK to Largs to join the 2022 International Shrimpers. This trip was the topic covered at the September Meeting. |
June![]() | Social & Quiz | Fish & Chip Night June 2022 Social at Royal Naval Association 7:30pm Included a group knowledge event on “Night Lights” |
| May | Sailing | 28-29 May Sailing Weekend (East Coast). The East Coast rally was arranged based at Foxes Marina, River Orwell for berthing and dinner on Saturday 28th May. |

Great weather and swimming in the sea while anchored off beautiful beaches? Amazing food and drink? The range of places to visit all less than a day sail from each other? and why despite BREXIT it is still a great cruising destination. |
January![]() | Meeting/ Presentation | Miss Behaving all the way home – Andrew Davidson Andrew Davidson recently assisted Ray Hunt with delivery of his yacht ‘Miss Behaving’ from Gibraltar to Uk via the French canals and survived to tell the tale. Andrew says the trip was not to be missed and neither was this presentation. |
