To support our aim of extending nautical knowledge and promoting the enjoyment of sailing in a social environment, we run a diverse programme of events throughout the year:
| Cruising Rallies | We have two fixed events each year: – the Spring Bank Holiday Cruise, and – the East Coast Gauntlet Challenge. Plus occasional events in teh Solent. |
| Crewing opportunities for non-owners | We actively match people interested in sailing or in gaining their sailing certifications to boat owners looking for crews. |
| Charity fundraising | We raise funds for the Commodore’s chosen charity through the sale of SOCA calendars, raffles, donations and fundraising events. |
| Monthly meetings/ presentations |
From September to May we hold presentations on a varied range of nautical subjects and/or cruising trips. |
| Commodore’s Annual Review and AGM | Once a year – typically March |
| Training | We run training courses such as First Aid, Boat Maintenance, Sea Survival and VHF-GMDSS. |
| Social Activities | During June, July and August we host a number of social activities at different venues. |
